This video was made in 1993. At that time Professor Cowan was Chair of the Scottish Studies program at the University of Guelph, a position now held by Professor James Fraser.
This portion of the video includes footage of the McLaughlin Library's Scottish collection, which is now the largest collection of Scottish materials outside the UK.
The Scottish Studies Foundation has agreed to fund the installation of a digital archive centre at the University of Guelph which will allow this unique collection of rare and unique Scottish books and manuscripts to be digitized and placed online. Help us to complete this project by donating here.
